League Registrations

Ankeny Girls Softball Competitive Softball Information and Registration

Regisration Fees:     

7U & 8U - $425 per player

9U through 13U - $550 per player

Registration fees collected will include a $75 concession opt-out fee.  Families will not be required to work concessions unless they choose to.  Members wishing to work concessions may volunteer for concession duty and have their concession opt-out fee returned.  To work concession and have the opt-out fee returned please contact the concession manager listed on the AGSA website and provide your availability.


If you do not own a jersey please purchase one during registration.  This is an add-on that will be an option towards the end of the registration process.  We will offer a time to try on jerseys prior to the beginning of the season.  Royal blue socks and black pants are apart of the uniform and can be purchased either on-line or at any sport goods stores.  Uniforms are required during Developmental League, but not during seasonal practice.  All outdoor practices do require long pants.

Developmental League:

Developmental League starts on August 12th with all players reporting for opening day.  This league was formed to develop all girls in the game of softball and to assess their skill sets.  Within the first three weeks, all girls that are 9U through 13U will be assessed and placed on teams based on like skill sets by Labor Day.  Developmental League will continue due to limited fields space until Ankeny Parks and Rec is done with Rec Softball League.

We are looking for coaches and parent volunteers to assist with Developmental League and the upcoming season.  If you are interested in volunteering please indicate that on your registration.

AGSA will entertain registrations for communities that neighbor Ankeny as long as that community does not have a formal softball program or club program in place.  These registrants will need approval by the AGSA Board of Directors.

August 11th Field Coordinators and Coaches Meeting & Run Through for Developmental League
August 12th Developmental League Opening Day
August 14th Player Evaluations Stations Begin (Min of 4 Evaluations Per Player)
August 18th Inter-Squad Rotating Scrimmage
August 18th Hitting and Indoor Practice Workshop put on by Randy Schneider at Iowa Sports Academy from 5-8pm (open to all that assist with practices)
August 25th Inter-Squad Rotating Scrimmage
September 5th  Rosters Finalized and Voted On
September 6th Rosters Announced
September 8th Mandatory Coaches Meeting at Iowa Sports Academy, 6pm - 8pm
September 8th & 9th Pitching Clinic (Ages Classes Separated)
December / January (TBA) Catching Clinic (All Ages)
February 1st Team Indoor Practices Begin at Iowa Sports Academy
April 1st Team Outdoor Practices Begin at Prairie Ridge Sports Complex (weather permitting)

Refund Policy:

Any requests for registration refunds must be made in writing no less than 15 days prior to the conclusion of the last event entered by the team the player is assigned to.  The request must be approved by a vote of the AGSA Board of Directors.  Partial to full refunds may be issues because of family relocation out of the Ankeny School District, injury to the player or for reasons the AGSA Board believes warrants a refund.  Refunds are generally not issued if leaving the association due to team placement or joining another team outside of AGSA.
